Formal Dress at Komarov

A formal dress is really one of those great and refined pieces of clothing that some women must have. While she may not typically attend formal events or go out on a regular basis, having such a dress handy gives a woman a sense of pride, assurance and beauty when called upon to show her best presence.

In years past, all over the world, but especially in Europe, and the U.K., formal wear for both women and men had been made of a relatively small palette of color, limited to blacks, gray and white, along with color flourished reserved for accent accessories, like jewelry, a scarf, handkerchief or perhaps a hatband. A great deal had changed, however, after World War II, when materials had been saved and primarily used for war efforts and designers were required to use their ingenuity. Also, because economies had strengthened after the war and a newfound celebration of life emerged, production of colorful and varied fabrics and materials increased greatly, allowing for some fantastic big changes in formal wear and specially the formal dress.

By the 1960’s, as the world approached the sexual revolution, neck lines opened up, backs became exposed and more skin became shown than ever before. An amazing array of colors also was introduced and has continued to expand right up to through today’s design and market needs. Where once blacks and white tones ruled the formal dress, now came translucent live greens, bright cobalt blues, elegant aquas and shimmery silvers, amongst many more, including patterned dresses too.

The style of the formal dress has favored showing a lady’s assets as opposed to hiding her figure, while still remaining tasteful and elegant. And now, it is easy to find a fabric floral accessory neatly tucked beneath a bust line or a beautiful bunch of pleats at the hips to accentuate the flow or cut of the dress without exaggerated individual body parts. After all, a woman who wears a formal dress wants other guests to see the whole picture of her beauty and presence and be pleased with her and her support of the event at hand.

Nowadays, formal dresses can be purchased for very reasonable prices, whereas before in the past they were only available to the very richest echelon of society. Even major department stores carry top brands for lower costs than previously priced. And some discount stores offer designs from top designers expressly made for a wider audience of buyers and happy customers. All of which means that you too can get the formal dress of your dreams…making your formal dress dream a reality!
